"Chef" Marilyn isn't the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the infamous blond bombshell. Yet a recipe featured in Fragments, a compendium of handwritten Marilyn artifacts, has led Marilyn-o-philes to believe the icon was in fact more domesticated than one may think.
Matt and Ted Lee of the New York Times deciphered the chicken scrawl below, spending several laborious hours crafting the bygone star's recipe. With 11 ingredients (not including 5 herbs, spices, salt, or pepper), the pair found the recipe unorthodox and hard work. But to their surprise, the end result was "one of the most handsome stuffings" they'd encountered:
"The mixture was delicious, a nice balance of vegetables, meats and bold seasonings, just faintly, tonically sweet from the raisins. Even the texture was superior, a fluffy, damp blend that packed well into a chicken cavity and emerged loosely gelled."
